Week 1

Coaching skills (A.S 1.5/1.8)

As an introduction to Term 2, the achievement standards for coaching, as well as the timeline of the term was discussed with the class. Coaching will begin on Friday of Week 3, and in the practical periods leading up to this week, we will be having a go at coaching our peers in the gym.

As stated in the above slideshow, you will need to focus on three specific skills for coaching; communication, feedback/feedforward and support and encouragement. Your coaching sessions need to ensure that you choose one of these skills to focus on each session, with a reflection task to be completed at the end of each session. 

Biomechanics theory (A.S. 1.2 Part 2)

During our theory lessons this week, we recapped over the biomechanics that Miss Aitken taught during Term 1, as a "biomechanics recap" google doc, attached below and also shared via email. 
Key concepts that you should already know:
- balance and stability
- force summation
- Newtons 3 laws
